Congratulations to the SVHS Varsity Baseball team for winning the SCL 2012 Championship! Awesome!
Congratulations also go out to the Boys Track & Field team for capturing 4th place at the SCL 2012 Track Championships, and to the Girls team for placing 5th! Twenty one members qualified for the NCS meet on Saturday, May 19, in Santa Rosa. Nice work!
Attention students needing summer school who have still not yet applied -- Students may turn in late summer school applications and will be added to classes until classes are full. There is still a chance the class you need has room so get your “Late Application” turned in this week!
Empty Bowls Fundraiser -- Each year the Art and Culinary Arts Departments raise funds for a local charity. This year we are supporting Sonomans serving in the military. Proceeds raised will fund care packages to be sent to military men and women all over the world. Buy a beautiful handmade ceramic bowl made by SVHS students for $5 each and fill it with ice cream and toppings on Thursday, May 17, at lunch. We’ll be set up outside of room H11. Please see Ms. Conner or Ms. Crews with any questions.

Attention Freshman signed up for next year's Engineering Pathway! We are having a pizza party on Friday, May 18, to welcome you to the program and to give you a chance to meet your teammates. There will be pizza, music and another competition for a chance to win a prize. Come to the Pavilion during lunch on Friday! Only Engineering students may attend. Bring any questions you have about next year and we'll look forward to seeing you there!

Sonoma’s Gay Straight Alliance will be hosting a movie night featuring the film “Milk” in honor of Harvey Milk Day on Friday, May 18, at 7:00 p.m. in the Little Theatre. Signed permission slips will be required at the door. Talk to your English or Social Studies teachers about permission forms or come to Mr. Fichman’s classroom, K4.

Seniors -- Please remember that you must request that a FINAL TRANSCRIPT be sent to the 2-year and/or 4-year college/university that you will be attending in the fall. Turn in a transcript request form WITH the address for your school to the registrar, Kyra Halkovich, as soon as possible, but definitely before June 1.
Announcing EnviroLeader Internship Summer 2012 applications are available -- Sonoma Valley Youth ages 14-18 may apply for a paid internship ($400 stipend) with the Sonoma Ecology Center which will take place from June 4 - August 25. Applications are available in the College & Career Center and are due by Wednesday, May 23. Early applications are encouraged.
Student volunteers are needed for the Sonoma State University EXCEL Youth Summer Enrichment Program for gifted students, grades 4-9. Applications are available at www.sonoma.edu/exed/excel or stop by the College & Career Center for more information.
